Topping Out at The Mews Collection: A New Chapter Takes Shape at Highett Common

This milestone marks the structural completion of both buildings within The Mews Collection, Stage 3 of the 9.4 hectare precinct.

Building F neighbours Building I, the Park Release, which reached the same milestone earlier this year. Once complete, over 137 apartments will be delivered across both buildings.  

To mark the occasion, a Topping Out ceremony was held on site, bringing together the construction team and project partners to acknowledge the progress made and celebrate the milestones ahead. Guests were taken on a tour of the site, from the display suite to the building's rooftop, allowing them to see The Mews take shape alongside the rest of the Highett Common precinct.

Highett Common Construction Update: Progress You Can See

Across the precinct, civil works are now complete, and Highett Common's first park is officially open to the public. The 1-hectare public park and playground gives current and future residents an open green space to enjoy, right at their front door.

Within The Mews Collection, the indoor lap pool structure is fundamentally complete, and services above the ceiling are now underway, bringing residents a step closer to a luxurious, all-seasons pool. Once complete, the indoor pool will form part of the Northern Resident’s amenity, complemented by a gym, wellness area, communal dining and lounge.

Inside Building I, plastering is fundamentally complete to level 6 and tiling is now progressing up to level 4, giving the bathrooms and wet areas their internal finish. Building F's internal wall framing is complete to level 6, with plastering now underway to level 5, forming each apartment's internal walls ahead of tiling and painting.

Across both buildings, external cladding, window installation and waterproofing continue at pace, progressively enclosing and weatherproofing each apartment. Painting is also underway, bringing walls and ceilings to their finished state as trades move through each level.

Joinery deliveries are also underway within Building I, with vanity and robe installation complete to level 1, The fitting out of bathrooms and storage ahead of kitchen installations will follow shortly.

Downstairs in the basement, services fit-off continues, including fire pumps, the main switchboard, and the waterproofed pool plant room, laying the groundwork for power and water connections across both buildings.

Both buildings are on track for an estimated completion of Q2 2027.

Looking Ahead

With the crane scheduled for removal in early October, The Mews Collection will soon take on its final form above ground, as finishing trades move through both buildings floor by floor. The milestone brings Highett Common one step closer to welcoming its next chapter of residents.
