Reaching a New Milestone: North Lane Tops Out at Highett Common

Construction at Highett Common continues to move ahead with strong momentum, with the recent structural completion of the North Lane building marking an important milestone for Sunkin Property Group’s landmark Bayside precinct.

North Lane is one of several architecturally designed buildings taking shape within the 9.3-hectare masterplanned community, ideally located next to Highett Station and surrounded by a growing network of local amenity. This latest milestone brings the project one step closer to welcoming its first residents, with move-in expected through October to November this year.

To mark the occasion, a Topping Out Ceremony was held on site in early April. The event brought together the construction team and project partners to acknowledge the progress made so far and to celebrate what lies ahead. It was also a moment to honour the tradition of showing respect to the land, while looking forward to the community that will soon call this place home.

Construction Update: Progress You Can See

Work at North Lane, delivered by SK Constructions, the building arm of Sunkin Property Group, is nearing completion. Final touch-ups and finishing works are now underway, bringing the first homes within reach.

Across the wider precinct, early civil works are also wrapping up. These foundational stages are essential to supporting the broader development, and their completion marks a significant step toward delivering a fully connected, well-functioning community.

Construction is also well advanced on Highett Common’s first one-hectare park. Key infrastructure including drainage, retaining walls, playground, and pedestrian pathways is being put in place, with landscape work also recently commencing. Once completed, the park will offer open green spaces and a nature-inspired playground available from the day residents move in.

Looking Ahead: What’s Coming Next

While North Lane moves toward handover, planning and preparation continues for future stages. The Highett Common Townhomes Collection is progressing through detailed design, with construction scheduled to begin later this year.

The Mews Collection, six-level apartment buildings designed for contemporary living, has now commenced early basement works and piling. Together, these next stages will add even more diversity and vibrancy to the community, supporting the precinct’s broader vision of walkable, green, and well-connected neighbourhood living.

Within the next six months, the first residents of Highett Common will begin to move in. Their arrival won’t just mark the completion of buildings, but the beginning of something much more meaningful: a community with green space, amenity and lifestyle built in from the outset.
